Once Upon The Tracks of Mumbai

We have heard the Hollywood superheroes BAT MAN, SUPER MAN, SPIDER MAN but do superheroes emerge from the metal tracks ~ the RAIL MAN? Once Upon The Tracks of Mumbai, written by Rishi Vohra , turns out to be an interesting read.
Balwant Srivastav (aka Babloo) suffering from psychiatric problems, had neither received love  nor attention from his family. The author's description about how Babloo received ignorance, his difficulty to grasp and process the fast words in his brain is bound to create a soft corner in the reader's heart. But Babloo had his own dreams or thoughts which neither his parents were giving ears nor his average looking brother Raghu would.
Vandana, one of the main characters can charm anyone not only with her beauty but also be a temporary favourite character at few instances. The author has practically penned down on her modern thoughts and her situation/problem handling mechanism when she finds herself in trouble which are mainly due to the bad eyes staring at her.
The family characters of Babloo and Vandana and the supporting characters be it the Taxi Driver, the News Reporter and many others have been fit well in the story making it predictive at times. Apart from Babloo and Vandana, there is of course the additional masala of how the cool and smart loafer guy Sikander gives an illusion of being decent and cheats the young girls; the Indian gossips and much more.
The author has also been successful in describing the Mumbai City where one can get an insight about the crowded city, the food serving style which people like Babloo will never eat, the working people's travel through the metros, the variety of theaters satisfying the entertainment quota of every income category.
What were Babloo's and Vandana's dream?  Who will help them? Will Vandana find her dream man or fall in a trap?  Well for the answers for the questions above, read it yourself and find them. Of course  the author has also tried to bring highlight on the mindset of people suffering from psychological difficulties (rather than terming it disorder) and the society's attitude towards them which demands a change in today's world. Overall, the practical experiences filled at times with happiness along with rare bitterness story of a common man/woman ending in an expected note with an essence of a slight twist has been penned down in a beautiful way. The book is Awesome :)

Thanks Rishi Vohra for giving me the book :)
